Food Handler Specific Information

Under the law, food handler certificates and cards can be issued by ANSI (American National Standards Institute) approved food manager certification organizations.

The National Registry of Food Safety Professionals (FSP) and the National Restaurant Association (the ServSafe® brand) are two of the three ANSI approved food manager certification organizations.  Simple Food Safety Consulting offers food handler cards from both organizations.  See Food Handler under Class Descriptions for additional information.

Simple Food Safety Consulting (SFSC) provides food manager level food safety and food handler training and certification for restaurants, food establishments and production facilities, as well as individuals seeking certification.  We offer on-site, individual and group training.  We provide food handler training and testing for Spanish speakers.

The California Food Handler law (Senate Bill 602) went into effect July 1, 2011.  All food handlers have to complete the course and an exam provided by one of the three accredited food manager certification providers.
